Navigating Steep Slopes Near the Creek
A homeowner on a steep grade near the creek needed to gut a basement after heavy rains. The driveway pitched sharply downward, and the asphalt was softening in the summer heat. Dropping a heavy steel box here usually spells trouble—cracked pavement or a bin that slides. They needed a 15-yarder right against the garage door to handle the water-damaged drywall.
We used our hooklift truck for this one because it allows for much more precise placement than a cable hoist. I laid down extra-thick wood cribbing to spread the weight and lock the wheels in place. We set the container down gently, ensuring the doors could swing open without hitting the retaining wall, keeping their driveway intact and the loading process easy.
Elias managed to place the dumpster perfectly on our sloped driveway without leaving a mark.
